Cheese Grits

Recipe I picked up from a cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking, with some slight modification.

Ingredients

  • .5 cup stone ground grits

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup whole milk

  • .25 cup Romano cheese, grated

  • 1 tbsp cream cheese

  • .5 tsp salt

Equipment

  • Just a pot

Instructions

  1. Simmer water, milk, salt.

  2. Whisk in grits, reduce heat to low, simmer for 20-30 minutes. Continually stir.

  3. When serving, add Romano cheese and cream cheese, stir.
